Last Minute Fitness Gifts

You still have 8 days left for Christmas shopping, and I’ve put together a list of some great gifts for the fitness lover in your life! (Or, you know, just in case you’re worried Santa may not take good care of you, these could also be for yourself!)

Customizable yoga mats

You can’t go wrong with a yoga mat for the yogi in your life, or for anyone who wants to work out in their living room. You can find them in just about every color or pattern. There may not be time before Christmas, but for any other occasion, why not get personal, and try these monogrammed yoga mats from Etsy? For $40, you can have a mat embroidered with an initial, monogram, or name.

Lulu = cute butt

Also a great gift for a yogi, or for any woman who enjoys her butt looking amazing in yoga pants, are the Wunder Under Crop from Lululemon. They are pricey, at $72, but worth. every. penny. (See my note about your butt looking amazing, above). These are my fave Lulu pants, they are comfortable, incredibly flattering, are the perfect length for a crop, and are great quality, so they’ll last for a long time.

They change their colors and patterns often, so you can always find some cute, new color combination. Obviously, you can never go wrong with black.

For the healthy cook (or aspiring healthy cook), try a gift subscription to Eating Well magazine. Everyone keeps saying that magazines are being phased out by websites, and it’s true that the Eating Well website is also bookmarked on my laptop. However, I also get the print copy, because it’s just easier to have a magazine open to a recipe on your counter when you’re cooking, and your hands are messy. I try, and tweak, a lot of Eating Well recipes, like these delicious Mustard Baked Chicken packets.

A subscription is $10 for a year, 6 issues a year, making this the perfect stocking stuffer gift.

GPS watch

If you know a techie fitness friend, there are a couple of great options for gifts. One is a GPS watch, which is perfect for a runner, especially someone who races and needs to keep track of their training. I love the Garmin Forerunner, but there are lots of good options at different price points.

Fitbit – pedometer with style!

Another great tech gift is the Fitbit. I have friends who swear by this device. It’s basically a pedometer, but a super cute pedometer, with a great website, and lots of features that make it easy to use. The Zip Fitbit tracks your steps, calories burned, and distance travelled. It syncs data wirelessly, and you can also log a food journal on your Fitbit webpage. For $60, this is a great tool to encourage more activity daily.

A cute stocking stuffer for anyone on your list is a stylish water bottle. Much more ecologically sound than buying bottled water every time you head out, a water bottle is a must for the gym, or just to throw in your bag whenever you’re out and about. There are so many cute bottles on the market these days, it’s easy to find one that anyone will love. Check out the selection below:

L-R, top to bottom:
1. KOR Delta bottle, $20 2. Klean Kanteen Classic, $20 3.Life Factory bottle, $25
4. Sigg bottle, from $22, 5. Bobble, from $9 – $13, 6. BKR bottle, $28

Happy, Healthy Holidays! Enjoy your break, and remember, exercise is great stress relief!
